This tiny cottage restricted in size by Breakwater Village’s guidelines packs a lot of charming detail and living space into a two story, seaside cottage.
The first floor is one large gathering space combining a chef kitchen with the living space just off it so that the chef and guests can enjoy gathering together.
The second floor has 2 bedrooms, a master bedroom suite and a guest room. The master bedroom bay window enlarges the space without increasing living area and the master bathroom is enlarged by the use of plate glass shower walls and skylights. The bunk-room, which has 2 bunks on either side, each with its own window, is a compact and fun guest space. There is a deck off of the second floor bedrooms for enjoying the view as well as a pergola below that extends the living space on the first floor to outside.
One of the most special aspects of this maritime themed home is the open stairway with bookcases, which ascend the stair and are lit from the grid of small windows. It brightens both the first and second floor spaces. A dramatic newel post and oval window also add style to this already beautiful first floor.
The owner chose to use maritime theme colors and accents, which fully bring this vacation cottage to the sea.
