High in a meadow overlooking the Atlantic Ocean sat a house which was well loved but in need of a major renovation and a large Gathering Space for our clients to entertain family and friends. We completely updated the favorite spaces of the existing house and created the Gathering Space addition and garages. The focus of the rooms is the views over the meadows to the ocean, and we created tall cathedral ceilings and a wall of windows toward the water. A deck with plenty of space for the owners to entertain spills down to the meadow. The kitchen with generous cooking areas also looks across the seating area out to the ocean. The space is defined by couches surrounding a paneled fireplace wall and entertainment area. Timber trusses accent and support the vaulted ceiling. The cupola on the roof is lighted providing a beacon for the owners as they sail home.
