This waterfront home started as a unwelcoming 1970s house which we transformed into an open and inviting modern cottage style home.
We created a home focussed on the water with kitchen, gathering and dining spaces open to each other and the view in this major renovation. From the kitchen on the street side, through to the living room by the water, the owners wanted to enjoy this waterside location.
Timber stairs to the second floor were built without risers so that the water is visible the moment you enter the house. Everywhere, including the new master and guest bedroom addition, is filled with a feeling of space and light.
Toward the street historic details like the craftsman porch, stone building base and pergola link the building to the historic town. On the water side huge expanses of windows create a modern facade. Guests and family alike feel welcomed into this bright and spacious home with broad views of Wickford Harbor.
